Rubber safer surfacing tiles or 'Play Tiles' are particularly suited to areas that have no fixed play equipment, avoiding the need to cut to shape around equipment legs, etc.

Manufactured using the same materials as 'Wet Pour' and measuring 1000mm x 1000mm, play tiles are formed in a heated press and therefore each tiles dimension is consistent with the next. Simple installation process means that rubber play tiles lend themselves to self-installation by the customer.

Coloured shapes and graphics can be added to the tiles during manufacture to brighten up the play area and create a more stimulating play environment for the children to enjoy. The basic colours offered in our play tile range are Black, Terracotta Red and Forest Green.

Safer surfacing tiles can be installed onto existing concrete or tarmac very easily, provided that these existing surfaces are sound and level. Areas that are presently grassed will need to be excavated and a new concrete base prepared prior to the installation of rubber surfacing. Garden Karma Limited offers a complete installation service including the preparation of such base work.

Play Tile rubber surfacing can be laid to various depths ranging from 20mm - 80mm dependant on the application for which they are intended or the operating height of the play equipment.

Popular surface requirements within a Nursery School for example would be 20mm - 40mm surfacing allowing for the use of tricycles, 'run-around' space and low level play structures up to 1.20 metres.

The addition of a coloured fleck or coloured shapes and graphics can create a stimulating play area for younger children.

Primary school and residential sites may have similar requirements. 20 - 30mm surfacing in quiet or social areas and surfacing generally between 30mm - 50mm in play equipment areas, taking into account the far more adventurous nature of the climbing activities. Fall heights of 0.70 metres - 1.50 metres. Deeper surfaces will be required for taller structures.
