Wet Pour rubber recreational surfaces are formed using either recycled rubber granulate, (derived from truck tyres), or synthetic rubber granules, (EPDM), and is mixed on site with Polyurethane binder specifically designed for the purpose.

Wet pour rubber play surfaces are semi fluid during the installation process and is therefore extremely versatile, it is possible to surface around existing playground equipment and other obstacles seamlessly. The nature of the product also allows the creation of ‘spot’ graphics or themed designs to be introduced into the finished surface.

Wet Pour surfacing can be installed onto existing concrete or tarmac very easily, provided that these existing surfaces are sound. Areas that are presently grassed will need to be excavated and a new concrete or type 1 stone base prepared prior to the installation of rubber surfacing. Garden Karma Limited offers a complete installation service including the preparation of such base work.

Wet Pour or ‘Poured in Place Rubber Surfacing’ can be laid to various depths ranging from 15mm – 100mm dependant on the application for which it is intended or the operating height of the play equipment.

Popular surface requirements within a Nursery School for example would be 15mm – 35mm surfacing allowing for the use of tricycles, ‘run-around’ space and low level play structures up to 1.10 metres.

The addition of a coloured fleck or coloured shapes and graphics can create a stimulating play area for younger children.

Primary school and residential sites may have similar requirements. 15mm surfacing in quiet or social areas and surfacing generally between 35mm – 50mm in play equipment areas, taking into account the far more adventurous nature of the climbing activities. Fall heights of 1.10 metres – 1.5 metres. Deeper surfaces will be required for taller structures.
